The developed one. Beach bars, sunset swings, a buzzing dive scene and a proper night out. It's brilliant fun if that's what you're after, and a lot if it isn't. Prices are climbing as it goes upmarket, and the quiet corners are getting harder to find.
Perfect for one big night out. Less so for two weeks of calm.
Barely-there and beautiful: a handful of resorts, a saltwater lake, and not a great deal to do. Idyllic for a couple to switch off completely. The catch: you'll see most of it in an afternoon, and the good food and cocktails come at a premium.
Stunning for a fancy day or two, then you've run out of island.
The balance, and our home. Calm but alive: reefs and turtles straight off the beach, dive and freedive schools, dawn yoga, every kind of restaurant, and a low-key bar scene with real charm. Not the island for hardcore party animals; the island for almost everyone else. The one you can happily lose three weeks to.
